Loreto & Pilar are twin sisters and self-taught artists born and raised in Chile, living in Canada since 2009.
Having spent many years working in industry their art was always relegated to a hobby, but they finally decided to pursue painting as a career. They spent a year cultivating their style until they started working with local galleries and spending all free time working on their craft.
Loreto and Pilar collaborate on their paintings, using oil on canvas to create moody landscapes and dreamscapes that invoke a sense of calm and serenity. Focusing on a West Coast vibe, valleys, fjords and coastal island seascapes are the primary focus of their recent portfolio. Mist and fog are central features of much of their work. They have developed a unique style that can be easily recognized and immediately draws people in.
When they are not in the studio, they are out searching for peaceful seascapes, misty forests and interesting critters to capture for their next project.
Loreto and Pilar state that “Nature’s own artwork inspires us to deliver, with our brushstrokes, messages of love and respect for the Earth and its wildlife.”
