Susan Gurd-Jensen

Susan’s life of caring for the marginalized as a nurse in a mental health hospital and in her role as an Anglican Deacon has led her to see her life and art through a spiritual lens.

Her training is a result of classes with many powerful instructors such as Michael and Nancy O’Toole and Richard McDiarmid who taught her to “see” in her drawing and to be fearless in the use of colour.

Susan’s current work in acrylic and oil is loose and impressionistic, allowing the essence of the subject to speak to the viewer.

SuSan has participated in shows with the White Rock painters, at the Sunflower cafe Crescent Beach, with the Salt Spring painters guild, and a portrait show at Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney.
