Born and raised in Sault Ste Marie Ontario, Linda’s artistic journey was influenced by the Great Lakes and the Group of Seven artists who painted the majestic landscapes of the Algoma region. She has a diverse background in art and academic studies; with a B.A. and Master’s degree in geography, and has completed an advanced Certificate in Fine Art Fundamentals from the Victoria College of Art. Linda was also influenced by Joan Hill of the Artistic Statement School of Fine Art in Victoria. With her background in geographic studies, Linda ably captures the movement of clouds, the motion of the waves rushing to the shore, the majesty of the Rockies, and the sway of wheat and canola fields. Working with oil as her medium of choice, she has focused on the landscapes of Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. Through her travels Linda has painted the urban landscapes of Rome, Beijing and Quito. Linda has had several showings of her work, with her paintings being purchased by private collectors across Canada.
