Jill Levere works primarily in watercolour or acrylics, but is often drawn to include the use of watercolour pencils, ink, pen, pencil drawing, sumi art, and even a little collage. She loves to explore new mediums, a variety of tools, and various genres from realistic to abstract, while dabbling in urban sketching, and abstract realism. She also enjoys exploring the use of recycled wood as an occasional canvas.
Although Jill’s passion is acrylic painting on large canvases and particularly on recycled wood boards, she has recently explored painting on smaller pieces of wood using acrylics, acrylic inks, and mixed media to produce unique wearable one of a kind earrings.
Jill is inspired by family, nature and travel, and of course by the beautiful surroundings of her home in Victoria on Vancouver Island.
Jill notes: “my greatest delight is creating something that surprises myself and invites myself and others into a thoughtful reflection and conversation about the piece”.
