Donna Denman

Born and raised in Victoria, Donna is inspired by the beauty of Vancouver Island. Throughout her life she has tried a variety of artistic mediums and has come to appreciate the versatility and spontaneity of watercolour. While her style is mainly representational she often satisfies her need to be somewhat abstract by painting textures in rocks, old wood, sand, leaves and old buildings. Many of her paintings are mounted on board and protected with an archival wax which she finds enhances the colours and, without the need for glass, it gives her paintings a more modern look.

She has been fortunate to find a community of other artists through Cordova Bay 55+, Studio 30 and Scattered Artists who continue to inspire her.

In addition to painting she often will search through thrift stores looking for just the right piece to use for her glass garden creations.
